Volunteer with Golden Gate Basset Rescue

Foster Coordinator

Do you have any experience of fostering for a dog rescue? Golden Gate Basset Rescue is a breed-specific dog rescue nonprofit that needs a volunteer to assist our current foster coordinator and eventually take over once trained. We are a foster-based rescue of Basset Hounds in Northern California. This volunteer will receive surrender applications from our website or requests from our shelter liaison about an incoming hound, and will put out appeals to our foster volunteer list. Initially via our mass email tool, and potentially by personal email or phone call. Once a hound is in a foster home, the coordinator will work with the foster home on medical needs, behavior assessments, photos, bios, and potential adopters. We take in around 40-50 hounds each year and have around 20 dogs in our care at any one time.
